Community Guidelines
Effective July 16, 2026 · Policy version 2026-07-16-v1
Rivo is built for people who move together. These guidelines help keep groups, challenges, posts, and comments supportive, safe, and fair. They apply to your profile, group and challenge details, posts, comments, reactions, and every other way you interact with people on Rivo.
The short version
Encourage people. Respect their safety and privacy. Share honestly. If something feels harmful or unsafe, report it and block the person when needed.
1. Treat people with respect
Do not post or engage in:
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, targeted humiliation, or unwanted sexual attention.
- Threats, intimidation, glorification of violence, or encouragement of self-harm.
- Hateful content that attacks, dehumanizes, or promotes discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious illness.
Disagreement is allowed. Personal attacks and attempts to make someone feel unsafe are not.
2. Protect children and keep sexual content off Rivo
Do not share pornography, nudity, sexual solicitations, non-consensual intimate content, or content intended for sexual gratification.
We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation, sexualization of minors, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or any attempt to obtain or share sexual content involving a minor. We remove this content, take action against involved accounts, and report it to the appropriate authorities when required by law.
3. Respect privacy and be authentic
- Do not share someone's private information, precise location, credentials, or private communications without permission.
- Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are to deceive others.
- Share only content you have the right to use. Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual-property rights.
4. Move safely and play fair
- Do not falsify, manipulate, or inject step data to gain an unfair advantage.
- Do not pressure people to overexercise or encourage dangerous activity. Respect your own limits and the limits of others.
- Rivo is not a medical service. Do not use the community to give dangerous medical instructions or discourage someone from seeking qualified care.
5. No spam, scams, or illegal activity
Do not use Rivo to:
- Post repetitive spam or send unwanted promotions.
- Run scams, phishing attempts, fraud, or distribute malware.
- Buy, sell, or facilitate illegal goods, services, or activity.
- Misuse reports to target, intimidate, or retaliate against another person.
6. Reporting and blocking
If a post or comment violates these guidelines, open its action menu and select Report. Choose the most accurate reason and add context that may help us understand what happened. Reports should be made in good faith.
You can also use the separately labeled Block action to limit interactions with another person. If you cannot use the in-app tools, contact us at hello@joinrivo.app.
Rivo is not an emergency service. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report the content to us.
7. How moderation works
We review reports regularly and respond as promptly as reasonably possible. We prioritize credible threats, child-safety concerns, and risks of imminent harm. We consider the content, available context, severity, and relevant account history. A report does not automatically mean the content or account will be removed.
Depending on the situation, we may:
- Take no action when we do not find a violation.
- Remove content or limit access to a feature.
- Warn, temporarily suspend, or permanently remove an account.
- Preserve information or contact authorities when required by law or necessary for safety.
Serious violations may result in action without advance notice. We do not tell the reported person who submitted a report, except where disclosure is legally required.
8. Appeals and questions
If you believe we made a moderation mistake, email hello@joinrivo.app with the subject “Moderation appeal.” Include the email associated with your Rivo account and enough context for us to locate the decision. We will review the available information and respond when the review is complete.
9. Changes to these guidelines
We may update these guidelines as Rivo and its community evolve. If a material change affects what you may post, we may ask you to review and accept the updated version before posting again.
